Persona in vise – teoria jungiana

masksRolurile Personei sunt adesea considerate „masti” carora li se acorda o semnificatie negativa, in contrast cu „adevarata” personalitate experimentata de obicei de catre Eu („vreau doar sa fiu eu insumi” ); in orice caz, aceasta perceptie oglindeste o neintelegere a functiei pe care o indeplineste Persona. Persona este doar o structura (psihica – nota mea) aflata in stransa legatura cu constientul colectiv, similara conceptului de rol din teoria sociala. Eul stie de obicei ca se poate identifica si dezidentifica cu rolurile Personei, in timp ce nu este in general constient ca se poate de asemenea identifica sau nu cu identitatile umbrei, care par mai degraba parti ale Eului respinse de acesta. Persona pare a fi optionala, umbra pare compulsiva, desi ambele sunt simple roluri ale identitatii Eului care se afla in relatii cu diferite grade de tensiune cu alte componente structurale ale psihicului.

Atunci cand functioneaza adecvat, persona are rolul de facilitator al activitatii Eului in interactiunile sociale. Persona este de asemenea un vehicul pentru transformarea Eului: continuturile inconstiente pot fi la inceput experimentate prin intermediul unui rol al Personei si mai tarziu integrate in Eu ca parte a identitatii sale functionale implicite.

Atunci cand Persona este identificata in cadrul unui vis, trebuie sa fie analizata atat din perspectiva relatiei pe care o are cu alte structuri reprezentate in vis, cat si din perspectiva dinamicii globale a visului. Persona nu este in sine pozitiva sau negativa.
